Axcelera-P is a highly palatable and digestible accelerator designed to switch on lifetime performance in pigs. Ideal for hyperprolific situations, reducing piglet mortality and producing more uniform litters.
Easy to use
- Axcelera-P completely replaces any existing pre-weaning diet.
- Introduce Axcelera-P in the farrowing house from 4 days of age.
- Offer to appetite by providing small amounts at least twice a day. During the suckling period expect a total intake of up to 200g per piglet. A clean water supply should always be available.
4 week weaning: Blend transitionally with the first post-weaning diet for a minimum of 4 days before weaning and blend 10% Axcelera-P with 1st stage diet for approximately 4 days post-weaning.
3 week weaning: At weaning, blend 50:50 with first post weaning diet on the first full day after weaning.
From the second full day after weaning: Introduce 100% post weaning diet or blend 10% Axcelera-P with 1st stage diet for a further 2-3 days post weaning.
Pigs offered Axcelera-P from day 4 finish on average 5 days earlier or 4.3Kg heavier. The accelerating effect of Axcelera-P on lifetime performance is most visible after weaning – a feature that is typical of Accelerators.
Axcelera-P is a new technology that switches on lifetime performance in pigs. It replaces all feed before weaning and works in a totally different way. The accelerator effect becomes measurable by 3-4 weeks after weaning.
What to expect:
- Significant weight difference 3-4 weeks after weaning due to accelerated growth rate
- No significant difference in weight at weaning
- No significant difference in pre-weaning feed intake
Further on-farm commercial trials produce the signature Accelerator growth curve, where the growth rate across the lifetime after weaning is faster than normal. This is due to the effect Axcelera-P has on the piglet in the first days and weeks of its life.
Axcelera-P switches on lifetime performance in small and big pigs, achieving an extra 6.5kg only 70 days post weaning in big pigs.

Proven to Improve Pre-Weaning Performance
In scientific trials in the farrowing house, Axcelera-P clearly outperformed creep feed:
Breeding performance in pigs is leading to the production of more vulnerable neonates which need more inputs to prevent increases in mortality. We see increasing litter sizes with pigs associated with lower birth weights and higher mortality. Trials show that Axcelera-P reverses these pressures and trends in mortality particularly in hyperprolific situations.
Proven to Improve Post-Weaning Performance
Improvements in feed conversion rates results in an average gain of 1kg out of the nursery. This has been demonstrated in both academic and commercial trials.
Giving Axcelera-P Alignside a 'Milk System' Improves Performance
- Trial carried out in Germany on hyperprolific sows
- Litters split into 2 groups:
- 7 litters received milk and starter feed
- 7 litters received milk + Axcelera-P and starter feed
Axcelera Litters Clearly Outperformed Non-Axcelera Litters
Shown to match the performance of a 'Milk System' - At significantly lower cost
- Trial carried out at Harper Adams University College
- Litters split into 2 groups
- 11 litters fed milk from day 4 plus conventional starter diet from day 14
- 11 litters given Axcelera
The same performance with significant cost savings shows the clear commercial benefits of Axcelera-p
Demonstrates clear lifetime benefits in a farm trial
Commercial trials on real pig farms verify the lifetime performance achieved with Axcelera-P. In this trial, the pigs achieved their slaughter weight 8 days earlier than usual.
This difference equates to achieving an extra 3.2kgs at slaughter.
What is this earlier finish worth to you?
- 2 university and 4 detailed on-farm trials
- Litters balanced for number of piglets, size of piglets and sow parity
- Litters in each trial were split into 2 groups in the farrowing room
- Group 1 received standard creep feed
- Group 2 received Axcelera-P
Axcelera-p demonstrated clear benefits in pre-weaning trials in a wide range of farms
Video: Measure the benefits in your own pigs
We've created a 2 minute step-by-step animated video to make it easy for pig farmers see for themselves how easy it is to measure the extra profit that can be achieved by the accelerated growth rates from Axcelera-P.
Axcelera-P has been shown consistently in academic trials and supported by many commercial pig farmers to accelerate lifetime performance, delivering heavier pigs or an earlier slaughter. Because our Accelerator technology is so new, we wanted to make it as quick and easy as possible for all pig farmers to measure the enhanced performance that can be achieved. Pigs are the best judges of any product and we want every producer to see the accelerated growth for themselves.
We are used to seeing innovations that lift performance on poorer performing farms having little or no effect on high performing farms, but one of the many benefits with the accelerator technology is that it lifts performance in both low and high performing farms.
Axcelera-P is simply offered up to weaning with significant weight increases being achieved 3-5 weeks afterweaning when growth really does start to accelerate. These results can then be extrapolated to demonstrate the total weight and performance gains through the lifetime of the pig. This short 2 minute video is our way of making it easy for pig farmers to run their own trial and see how extra profit from accelerated growth rates can be achieved in their own pigs.
An Axcelera-P trial lasts only about 8 weeks with farm trials showing that it produces significantly faster growth performance in the post weaning nursery accommodation. Some producers may wish to run the trial for the full 21 weeks to measure the total lifetime value of Axcelera-P – in one trial producing an extra 4.3kg at slaughter.
